During the conference organized by the city of Marsala<\/a>\u00a0in memory\u00a0of\u00a0Marco De Bartoli<\/a><\/strong>, Renato and\u00a0Giuseppina recalled through images, anecdotes\u00a0and memories an extraordinary\u00a0father.<\/p>\n

\u2013 Accused and absolved for\u00a0: wine adulteration, environmental damages, cover up of archeological\u00a0finds<\/p>\n

\u201cGiving a wine a fancy name is a defeat for its territory\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cColor, aroma, taste\u00a0and intelligence\u00a0are the qualities needed to know, recognize\u00a0and\u00a0evaluate a wine. It is then logical that a tasting, like\u00a0love, starts from the eyes\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSicily is Italy with an African inclination, and it is the most irresistible cocktail of West and East. It is the paradise of wine and food\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2013 Profile\u00a0of a simple man, but\u00a0intuitive\u00a0and sensitive, grown in an important historical context. What he did is fairly basic, but with foudamental historic traits:<\/p>\n

a) rediscovering a forgotten wine like\u00a0perpetuum,<\/em> and valuing and experimenting with\u00a0an ancient variety such as Grillo which,\u00a0in those years, was thrown out by cheap varieties such as Trebbiano and Grecanico<\/p>\n

b) all this would have been easier if he was not alone. A territory becomes great when there’s a\u00a0common goal<\/p>\n

c) he counted only on his interpersonal skills, and become the marketing tool of himself, with an inner strenght that sometimes he was so surprised at himself<\/p>\n

d) of course, his will for personal and \u00a0territorial redemption have been the greater energy\u00a0and motivation ever<\/p>\n

e) he never worried\u00a0his territory to be considered subordinate<\/p>\n

f) he thought of\u00a0great wines of the world on a par\u00a0and with a competitive spirit<\/p>\n

For me and my brother and sister he is a model, and I hope it is the same for other people<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
