On December 11th, at 5 pm, at Complesso monumentale San Pietro, the city of Marsala promotes a conference in memory of Marco De Bartoli to celebrate the figure o a great Marsalese producer, with a deep knowledge of the vineyard, among the first to protect and promote his own territory and the Sicilian viticultural traditions.
For the occasion, the major Alberto Di Girolamo invited the Italian Minister of Agriculture Maurizio Martina and the Sicilian Council member for Agriculture Antonino Cracolici.
“Marco De Bartoli was the custodian of the marsala wine tradition” – declared Nino Barraco, winemaker and, since this year, Council member for Agriculture in Marsala – “a visionary man, a pioneer, who left us a cultural heritage of outstanding value.”
The conference dedicated to Marco De Bartoli, chaired by the major, will see the participation of Giancarlo Gariglio (Guida Slow Wine), Davide Paolini (journalist of Sole24Ore), Ciccio Sultano (2 Michelin star chef at Il Duomo, in Ragusa), Franco Rodriquez (Trapani’s representative of Associazione Italiana Sommelier), Ercole Alagna (marsala producer) and Giusto Occhipinti (wine producer and co-owner at COS).
The conference is open to the public.
