Our unfortified perpetual wine, Vecchio Samperi, was reviewed by Decanter, the worl’s best wine magazine, with a score of 95 points over 100 on the special 2018 supplement dedicated to Italy, a guide to what’s next and exciting in Italian wine, and with a section on “Icon Wines” and “little-known icons.
The critic and reviewer Richard Baudainsalso lists as well our pre-British marsala wine on its article Under the radar: 12 unsung heroes of Italy. This was for us a very good way to start the new year, not only because of the amazing Baudains’ review of our Vecchio Samperi, but mainly for the long shelf life recognized to our very first wine, over 40 years!
“beautifully fresh nose , discreet but precisely stated fig, toffe apple and marjoram. Searing acidity on a palate of incredible intensity; haunting flavours of toasted nuts, bracken and “old leather”, with a warm and reassuring finish. Unique. Drink 2018-2060.“
